Recruitment Process
1

Apply for a role

Check out our current job ads on our jobs page. When you find a role you like (and that you have the appropriate experience for), apply straight away. Some roles move very quickly, and we don’t want you to miss out! Sometimes, our roles are filled in just 48 hours! That’s the EST10 dream team in action!

2

Jump on the phone for an initial interview with us

If your application is successful, one of our wonderful EST10 consultants will be in touch to discuss your resume in more detail. If we can help you with your job search, you will be invited to an interview. This may be face-to-face in our office or as a virtual interview on FaceTime, Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

3

Complete our skills testing

Before your initial interview, you’ll need to complete a series of skills tests. Your EST10 consultant will send you a link for these tests when arranging your interview time. See the FAQ below for more details.

4

Meet with an EST10 Consultant

This is one of the most important stages in your job search! We recommend you think of it as the first round interview for your next role. Either in our office, or via video link, your Consultant will conduct a competency based and conversational style interview. Be prepared to discuss your work history and past performance, as well as your goals moving forward.

At the end of the interview, your Consultant(s) will advise if you are suitable for any of our current roles. If we don’t have anything for you at the moment, we will contact you as soon as a potential role becomes available. If you haven’t yet heard from us, give us a call! We love proactive candidates.

5

Meet with our client

So now you have an interview with our client! Well done to you and to us! This is another important stage in the recruitment process, so give it nothing less than your very best. Ensure you have fully researched the role, firm and how to get there, make sure you are looking your best and on time! If you have any logistical or general questions in advance of the interview don’t hesitate to call us at any time. Before your interview with our client, we offer exceptional interview preparation and coaching. Following our interview, please call us ASAP–we need your feedback! Oh, and by the way, by ASAP, we mean as soon as you leave the interview, even before you call your mum or partner! We need this to assist you in securing your dream job!

6

Secure the job

Once we have spoken with our client, we’ll call you straight away to discuss next steps. If successful, you’ll move to second-round interviews (only if needed) and we’ll conduct final reference checks. We often need references at short notice, so please have these ready to go. When our client approaches us with an offer, we’ll negotiate on your behalf and call you with the good news ASAP.

7

Settle into your new role

We’ll help you settle into your new role and keep in touch to see how you are going. When in your new role, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We love to hear from you and are always available for a catch-up. Plus, we’ll celebrate your first day with you and every anniversary, too. We love seeing you flourish and grow in your career.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does it take to get a job through a recruitment agency?

The time can vary from a couple of days to a month. It also depends if you are after temporary work or a permanent role. With temporary positions, we could have a job for you within an hour. We have filled permanent roles within 1 day!

I have already completed skills testing elsewhere, do I need to do them again?

Yes, the skills testing we do may differ from those completed elsewhere. It is part of our quality agreement with clients that we will complete our own skills testing for candidates.

What should I wear when meeting my Consultant?

When trying to get a job through a recruitment agency always treat any communication and meetings with Consultants as you would a hiring manager.  You should always dress as you would for an interview! We want you to look and feel your best when you speak to us. Treat the agency interview as if it’s the first round interview–after all it’s the Consultant at the agency who selects who goes forward to the clients for the role. This applies for both face to face meetings and virtual ones too.

Will you change my resume?

At EST10 we do not alter resumes before submitting to the client. As most of the roles we offer are administration positions, we believe your resume is a very useful tool for the client to see your capabilities and skills. We request your send your resume formatted as a Word document, so we can remove your personal details–for privacy! Please do triple check your resume,  ensuring it’s error-free before sending it to us.

Will you submit my resume without me knowing?

We’ll always consult you before putting you forward for any role as it’s important that you feel it’s the right fit. The privacy laws also prohibit agencies from submitting your details without permission.

I’ve submitted my resume but haven’t heard back from you. Why?

Given that we receive hundreds of resumes each day, we’re unable to get back to every applicant. If you don’t hear from us, don’t be disheartened. While you may not have been suitable for the role you applied for, you may be suitable for another position. Applications for each role are directed straight to the Consultant responsible for the role, so feel free to apply for other roles where another Consultant may be able to help. Once you have been interviewed by an EST10 Consultant, you won’t have to keep applying for other roles with us–your dedicated Consultant will look after you from there!

What’s involved in the skills test? And how do I complete them?

The tests are standard skills tests that allow us to see your proficiency in key software applications and skills. In other words, to see how much experience you have with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and how quickly you can type. Of course, there is so much more to roles than just these skills; but they mean we can benchmark you to match you with the most appropriate role.

We require all candidates to complete them prior to an interview and they form part of our quality compliance commitment to both you and our clients

The tests can be completed on any computer with an internet connection. You don’t need to have any specific Microsoft Office package installed on your computer, just access to Microsoft Office in some way.

There is no need to stress though, you can do the tests separately. For example, you can do the Word test first, have a cup of tea and then come back to the others! Most candidates really enjoy them. Allow 45 mins to two hours to complete them all.
