What does a Chief of Staff do?

The chief of staff role can include a myriad duties but some of the key daily duties you can be expected to execute are:

  • Main point of contact between staff, stakeholders and senior management
  • Strategic support to the CEO
  • Project management of strategic initiatives
  • Prepare meeting and media interview briefs
  • Draft documents including correspondence and speeches
  • Ensure all staff issues are addressed diligently
  • Participate in meetings alongside the CEO
  • Coordinate with the CEO’s executive assistant and private PA

Chief of staff in Sydney typically earn from $90,000 up to $250, 000 depending on the industry, qualifications and level of experience. 

If you are a chief of staff in Sydney, working in a temporary or contract capacity, you can expect to earn an hourly rate of between $40 per hour and $85+ per hour.
