Executive Assistant/Asset Manager

Detailed Job Description:

  • $140,000 + super
  • Property investment | Private family office
  • Sydney CBD | Fully office-based

What makes this company unique?

  • Career changes like this don’t come up often! This is an opportunity to step away from traditional executive support and build a completely new career in property
  • You’ll join a private family office with a varied portfolio across commercial, industrial, and retail property, giving you exposure to different assets from day one
  • You’ll build ownership of your own workload, becoming the go-to person across tenants, properties, leasing activity, and day-to-day portfolio matters
  • You’ll be learning directly from senior people who know the portfolio inside out, giving you fantastic exposure to the commercial thinking behind property decisions
  • There’s plenty to get your teeth into. One day might involve meeting a tenant or visiting a property, while another could see you working through a lease, preparing reports, or coordinating with an agent
  • Your ability to build relationships will be a huge asset here, with regular interaction across tenants, leasing agents, contractors, valuers, and other external partners
  • Most importantly, this isn’t simply a different job title. It’s an opportunity to establish yourself in a new profession, with the scope, responsibility, and salary all growing as your knowledge and experience develop

What is unique about you?

  • You’re an accomplished Executive Assistant who has been thinking, “What could I do next?” and you’re genuinely excited by the idea of moving into property
  • Relationship building is one of your biggest strengths. You know how to read people, communicate confidently, and build credibility with different personalities
  • Years of keeping busy executives organised have made you brilliant at juggling priorities, following things through, and staying across a lot of moving pieces
  • You’re commercially curious and want to understand the why behind decisions, not simply action what lands in your inbox
  • You’re confident dealing with senior stakeholders and won’t be intimidated by conversations with tenants, agents, contractors, or business leaders
  • You’re naturally proactive. If something needs chasing, resolving, or organising, you’re usually already onto it
  • Numbers don’t scare you! You’re comfortable working with budgets, reports, and spreadsheets and you’re keen to develop your financial knowledge further
  • You have excellent attention to detail and a reputation for being thorough, accurate, and dependable
  • Above all, you’re ready to learn. You won’t know every aspect of asset management on day one, but you’re motivated to build the technical knowledge to complement the skills you already have

A snapshot of your role…

  • Become a key point of contact across the portfolio, building strong relationships with tenants and getting to know the individual properties and businesses within them
  • Put your coordination skills to work across multiple moving pieces, keeping actions, key dates, conversations and property matters progressing
  • Work closely with senior leadership, learning how commercial property decisions are made and gradually taking greater ownership of asset-level matters

  • Build your property knowledge through exposure to leasing conversations, renewals, market information and relationships with external agents
  • Get out from behind the desk! Visit properties, meet tenants and coordinate with contractors and other partners to understand what’s happening on the ground
  • Develop a completely new skill set across property performance, budgets and reporting, creating the foundations for a long-term career in asset management
