Why Sending Sydney’s Best EA To A Global Conference In Vegas Is Important To Us

Over the past couple of weeks, you may have noticed promotional material relating to EST10’s annual competition to find Sydney’s Best EA. I have had so many people ask me why a recruitment company would go to the enormous effort and expense of running such a competition. It’s a question I LOVE to answer and felt it worth committing to digital ink.
To answer this question, we have to go back seven years ago to a time just before EST10 was established. Right from the onset, it was important as a recruitment firm that we were different and that we set ourselves apart from the competition. Marketers will be familiar with the term “white space”, a term used to describe gaps where companies have room to make their mark in a crowded playing field. Imagine, if you will, a cluster of office support/admin/EA recruiters all vying for the same positioning. This was the reality seven years ago and we were determined to be different. Not just because being different made perfect business sense, but because we wanted to set our own benchmarks, have our own high standards and march to the beat of our own drum. This meant really believing in quality recruitment, understanding our EA community, being engaged and excited about the job we do, and being authentic and genuine in all operations. And so with all this in mind, investing in our brand and the office support community, celebrating Admin Professionals’ Day and running our competition was a no brainer.
We’ve been running a competition to celebrate Admin Professionals’ Day since we first opened, but three years ago, we decided to up the ante when one of my good friends, a CEO of a women’s networking business, launched in the US. It was an amazing achievement and the perfect opportunity to take our competition to another level. That year, I travelled with my own EA and our 2015 winner to New York and when 2016 rolled around, we knew that an international prize couldn’t just be a one off. In 2016, our winner travelled to San Francisco and when 2017 rolled around, we knew it was time to raise the bar yet again. As you are no doubt aware, this year we approached the leading EA conference provider in the US to secure an amazing prize package for our winner – return airfares to Las Vegas, four nights’ accommodation and entry to the 2017 Administrative Professionals Conference this September.
In looking to the future of EST10, our vision is to be the Best EA Recruiter in Sydney. We’ll always be a boutique business, but being small does not by any stretch of imagination mean being small minded and that’s why our competition is part of our mission to make our vision a reality. But of course it’s not just about the big ideas. Making our vision a reality relies on delivering the very best service every single day… delivering quality shortlists, identifying talent, doing right by our clients and candidates, and keeping everyone engaged and eager for more. And for us, it’s the joy of a job well done that keeps us engaged and excited for more.
If you haven’t already done so, we truly hope you take the opportunity to nominate a superstar EA for our competition. Further details and the nomination form can be found at www.est10.com.au/vegas. We can’t wait to see the names that will join an already stellar list of nominees. With two days left – entries close 5pm, Friday 19th May – we would hate for you to miss out!
