Christmas In Sydney

Considering an Aussie Christmas in 2017? Here are a few reasons to entice you!

Get Christmas Twice!

Most people only get Christmas once a year but in Sydney, you get it twice… once in July (when it’s winter) and again in December (when it’s summer)!

Every July, the City of Sydney hosts their own Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park with ice-skating, snowball fights, mulled wine and fairground rides. Come December, you’ll see Santa Claus on a surfboard, camel rides on Bondi Beach and a poolside BBQ every other day.

Boat Cruise on Christmas Eve

One of the most exciting things during the festive period in Sydney is to take a boat cruise on Christmas Eve. This is the perfect way to get everyone together and sail around the amazing harbour, under the bridge and around the Sydney Opera House. Just head down to the Darling Harbour, book yourself a party boat and enjoy the sunshine, fancy-dress, tunes and drinks. Plus, what better vantage point to view Sydney’s NYE fireworks!

Australia’s Largest Carol Concert
Sydney holds the largest carol concert in Australia, for FREE, during the Christmas period. It’s a great way to get all your friends together and get in the Christmas spirit. You can sing along to all your favourite Christmas carols and might even have the chance to take selfies with the likes of Hugh Jackman (who has made an appearance on many occasions).

Christmas on the beach
Everyone should try at least one hot Christmas – and a Sydney Christmas is one you will never forget. Spending the day with hundreds of people wearing Santa hats and red swimwear on the beach is definitely a highlight. You can leave the hassle of cooking a huge Christmas dinner behind, get everyone to bring something along for the BBQ and have an amazing, relaxed Christmas Day.
