According to AON’s latest Trends in Global Employee Engagement report, just 61% of Australians are considered “highly engaged” or “moderately engaged” at work. What’s interesting about employee engagement statistics is that employees who receive positive recognition from a manager on a daily basis are 2.5 times more likely to be satisfied in their role than employees who receive recognition a few times a year. This goes to show how important even something as simple as a competition nomination can go in demonstrating our appreciation for those who keep our organisations running.
