Admin Professionals – Job Market Update

It’s an encouraging time for job seekers to be looking for a new role with Australia’s top five largest advertising industries on SEEK all having year on year growth and being led by our very own Administration & Office Support sector.

  • Administration & Office Support – up 13 per cent y/y
  • Information & Communication Technology – down 2 per cent y/y
  • Healthcare & Medical – up 6 per cent y/y
  • Trades & Services – up 7 per cent y/y
  • Manufacturing, Transport and Logistics – up 11 per cent y/y

New South Wales, Australia’s largest employment market, remains strong with new job ads up 8.2 per cent year on year this June. This increase is more moderate in comparison to the end of FY15, which saw ads lift by 20.9 per cent year on year.

Over FY16 the NSW labour market was buoyed by demand in the following industries:

  • Administration & Office Support (up 21 per cent)
  • Information & Communication Technology (up 2 per cent)
  • Trades & Services (up 13 per cent)
  • Accounting (down 1 per cent)
  • Healthcare & Medical (up 9 per cent)

Victoria and Tasmania also displayed strong job ad growth compared to 12 months ago, with an uplift of 6 per cent and 8.9 per cent respectively.
